In 2000 the Woodland Trust created a ‘millennium’ plantation called Cow Hollow at Waterbeach near Cambridge. Willow, Ash and Alder quickly took hold with some trees today towering 10m in the fertile soil. In 2012, The Trust’s Ian Froggart approached Cambridge University Architecture Department to come up with ideas for using the timber resource at Cow Hollow. Working with Michael Ramage, Emily So and Patrick Flemming from the department and Smith and Wallwork, 8 students came up with designs for a bridge at Cow Hollow and a shelter at Sidney Sussex College.

Our thanks go to the students for talking part and coming up with some great ideas; Alisa Matjuka, Claire Elford, Eva Johnson, Fiona Johnson, Matt Bailey, Natalie Carder, Adrian Lau, Will Haynes.
