Construction work on the Uppingham School car park has now started with subbase and kerbing works well underway. The new car park will enable removal of cars from the historic quads and has been carefully interwoven between existing mature trees using porous paving and no dig-construction to minimise any impact on the landscaped setting.

Realignment of the listed ironstone boundary wall is also nearing completion which enables subsequent installation of a new pedestrian crossing and public footpath enhancement. These works form part of the wider ‘Thring Axis’ project which provides a new thoroughfare to the School providing a pedestrian link to a number of School facilities and historic quads.
