Smith and Wallwork collaborated with Cullinan Studio to develop a flat pack school. The first school, Holy Cross in Swindon was recently opened and at £1,450/m2 using modern methods of construction it is gaining interest.

The project faced some tough challenges in the ground – shrinkable clays, variable fill depths and contamination all had to be carefully considered in order to bring the project in on budget.

Smith and Wallwork also tackled local highways issues to gain a section 278 approval for the school entrance and drop-off zones.

The project is reported on the Building Design and Building websites. Click here for more details.
