Based on our Yoker project in Glasgow we are carrying out a research project with The University of Cambridge to better understand the performance of a 2 way spanning point supported CLT slab.

The project focusses on the analysis and testing of CLT slabs supported continuously along one edge and locally supported along the opposite edge. The aim is to derive a simplified design method that optimises the utilisation of slab without the need to install donwstand beams. The testing has been carried out using the latest displacement measurement technology based on recording the position in space and time of rigid markers glued to the sample tested. Then the data is used to validate the theoretical models.
