Smith and Wallwork’s first project has recently reached structural completion. The project for Arts University College Bournemouth delivers two new studio spaces which have been designed using passivhaus principles.

The cross laminated timber (CLT) structure forms an external stressed skin which is propped by long span 3-pin arches in glulam. The CLT skin creates a highly airtight fabric which is key in achieving passivhaus accreditation.

Over the next month or so the building with be clad and fitted out. We hope to be able to show you completed images before spring.
