Cambridge University Boat House has been recommended for approval by local planners as reported by the BBC.

Smith and Wallwork are the civil and structural engineers for the University project; our expertise in flood risk and highways engineering saw us working closely with the Environment Agency and County Highways to develop designs.

As well as being sited in the flood plain the new entrance to the building has to cut through the flood defense bank. Design of flood compensation and flood defense alterations were all part of our works submitted for planning approval.

The final decision by the local Councillors is due on Thursday 9th May.
