Trada has published a new timber elements scheme design manual.

The new book is aimed at engineers but could also be used by architects and others to determine timber floor, beam, wall and column sizes for a variety of different timber products and situations. At concept design stage it will prove to be a valuable tool in assessing timber against steel and concrete options.

The book was originally conceived by Simon Smith in 2008. As chair of the Trada Advisory Committee Simon worked with the author James Norman and an industry review panel to steer the 1st edition of the book.
