Smith and Wallwork have submitted comments on the Cambridge Local Plan. The public consultation on the plan asked for opinion on various matters and we focused our input on section 6 – ‘Sustainable Development, Climate Change, Water and Flooding’.

Key points made in our submission to the City Council were:
– extending regulation beyond the design and construction phase to in-use monitoring of buildings
– more scrutiny in the specification of materials used in construction
– promoting the use of local materials and skills in construction
– encouraging innovation in water management
